A blue board with a round, shining white flashing light is a day and night signal in inland shipping that allows ships coming towards each other to communicate so that they can pass port-to-port instead of the usual starboard-to-starboard.
The board must be clearly visible from the front and from behind.
The color of the board is bright blue (RAL 5017) and it is provided with a white border of at least 5 cm.
The optional framework and/or rods as well as the lantern housing must be dark in color.
The dimensions must be such that good visibility is ensured, which is met if the length and width of the board are at least 1 meter.
